Iran Issues Warning to Gulf Nations Over Strike Involvement

(MENAFN) Iran has put Gulf nations on notice, warning that any decision to allow their soil to serve as a staging ground for attacks on the Islamic Republic could spell catastrophe for regional oil output — a threat that sent fresh tremors through an already volatile geopolitical landscape.

A stark warning from the commander of the Aerospace Force of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) — whose name was not included in the source dispatch — was cited by an Iranian semi-official news agency: "If their territory is used against Iran, they must say goodbye to oil production in the Middle East."

The declaration underscores Tehran's intent to hold neighboring states directly accountable for any role — active or passive — they may play in a potential military escalation against Iran.

The warning lands against a backdrop of rapidly intensifying regional hostilities. U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday extended the existing ceasefire with Iran, buying time for Tehran to formulate what he called a "unified proposal" — a move made at the urging of Pakistani officials.

The current crisis traces back to February 28, when the United States and Israel conducted coordinated joint strikes on Iranian territory. Tehran subsequently launched retaliatory strikes against Israel and other regional states hosting U.S. military assets.

Pakistan stepped in as a key diplomatic broker, securing an initial two-week ceasefire on April 8 and hosting the first formal round of peace negotiations on April 11 — efforts that have so far kept the door to diplomacy narrowly open.
